israel1 Supporting the modern State of Israel is part of who and what we are. In addition to our active and engaging Israel Committee and our sixth graders studying the history and challenges of modern Israel, our congregation supports the Jewish state in a number of ways.

Visiting Israel

Many congregants visit Israel to nurture their Jewish souls.

Giving to Israel. Congregants generously support the State of Israel through a variety of organizations, including AIPAC, Jewish National Fund, UJA-Federation and ARZA.

Celebrating Israel. Every year we celebrate Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day) as well as observing Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Commemoration Day).

israel2Our rabbi visits Israel on a regular basis.  In good times and bad Rabbi Moskowitz travels to Israel.  He shares his experiences with the congregation in sermons and articles.  He often writes about issues related to Israel on his blog and Times of Israel.

To learn more about Israel in the news read a daily synopsis of articles at Daily Alert.

In addition the congregation regularly studies educational materials from the renowned Shalom Hartman Institute.

Our adult education program encompasses a myriad of offerings, from regular monthly classes to Jewish philosophy to contemporary issues to Israeli films.

We participate as well in the 92Y Live program and the local Institute for Adult Jewish Studies with neighboring synagogues.  All are welcome to participate in these programs.

Our Enrichment Committee plans a host of programs. In addition the rabbi regularly offers a Torah study class as well as sharing insights in his weekly Torah Thoughts email.
